The City Manager or designee is directed to post City streets and roads with the proper traffic-control devices to regulate the maximum speed limits as established by the City, including traffic control signs in school zones pursuant to RCW 46.61.440, and said speed limits shall become effective when posted. In addition, the City shall be authorized to use automated traffic safety cameras in school speed zones and shall clearly mark all locations where automated traffic safety cameras are in use by placing signs in locations that clearly indicate to a driver that he or she is entering a zone where traffic laws are enforced by an automated traffic safety camera. The maximum legal speed limit on any City street or road or portion thereof which is not posted with a regulatory speed limit sign is 25 miles per hour. [Ord. 401 § 2, 2005; Ord. 28 § 4, 1995.]
