Individual and agency initiated proposals to amend the Lakewood Comprehensive Plan shall be submitted to the Department on forms provided by the City. Proposals may be submitted at any time; however, to be considered in the same calendar year, they must be submitted by the deadline set by the City Council, unless otherwise specifically authorized by the City Council. All proposals shall be considered collectively once each year except in the case of an emergency as determined by the City Council (see LMC 18A.30.090, Timing and exemptions). The comprehensive plan amendment calendar shall be approved by the City Council. No fee shall be charged at this proposal stage. The Department shall maintain a log or docket of all such proposals including a summary of the proposal, the principal proponent’s name and address, the date on which the proposal was submitted, and its review status.
