A. The use of a distinctive blue light is authorized for law enforcement vessels only, and may be displayed during the day or night, whenever the vessel may be engaged in direct law enforcement activities where identification of the law enforcement vessel is desirable or where necessary for safety reasons. This light, when used, would be in addition to prescribed lights and all signals required by law or regulations in this chapter.

B. The distinctive blue light may only be displayed by law enforcement vessels of the City’s law enforcement agency, the County Sheriff’s Department or other authorized emergency vessels.

A violation of this section constitutes a Class 2 civil infraction under Chapter 1.48 LMC. [Ord. 387 § 1, 2005; Ord. 86 § 1, 1996.]
